To All Students:

Welcome to another semester with Crescent Moon School (CMS), hosted by The Magical Blend. Many changes are in the works. The school has registered itself as a legal business and hopes to next register as an international educational institution. The courses have been refined, restructured, and more activities for student integration have been added.

The school’s website can be viewed at www.mtl-magicalcircle.ca/crescentmoon. It is a place where students can look up the curriculum and other neat stuff. There is also an e-list through www.yahoogroups.com (cms_mtl) for students to chat together, to ask teachers questions, and to also access uploaded files. This list also serves as the main vehicle by which students are informed of upcoming events and reminders. Your teacher will add your e-mail address to this list after the first class. Level 1 receives three workbooks and a reading pack included in their registration fees. The sizeable reading pack had been updated and contains excerpts so students need not buy several individual books. The student will still be responsible for purchasing and reading the two texts assigned to the Deity portion of the course.

Level 2 receives a reading pack like Level 1. There will still be some books to buy, but they are few and mostly for the religion section of the course. Students are responsible for the purchase of their art supplies for class.

Level 3 has been revamped. The agenda and schedule has been tightened and now Level 3 is complete at 25 weeks as opposed to the 40 weeks it used to be. Students are responsible for their readings and art supplies for this course.

Students wishing to enter the advanced levels without having done the earlier levels MUST pass an entrance exam arranged with the coordinators of the school.

Some general reminders:

This is not a children’s group of courses. The material is of a college/university reading level. These are very serious courses which require commitment and work. There are assignments and exams. There are also rituals, picnics, field trips, etc.

Please pay your fees on time or make arrangements with both your teacher and the co-ordinator. (We do understand that, sometimes, financial problems occur and the budget becomes tight, but we MUST be informed.)

Both new and returning students should have their own chalice and feast gear (plate, bowl, and utensils) for rituals.

** Please note that there will be an extra $5 charge per student for each guest speaker (where guest speakers can be arranged). There will be 1 - 5 guest speakers throughout a semester. Therefore, $5-25 must be paid by the student on the day the guests speak to the class. This will be announced ahead of time. Levels 2 and 3 do not include art supplies in the course fee. Students are required to obtain their own supplies or provide their teacher with the funds to do so a week before the required class.
