POLL: How Has the AvRen Changed You?
POLL: Did it help you to keep/regain your ATLA Fan-Spirit?
|
Yeah totally! |
|
|
A little bit |
|
|
No it didn't |
|
|
meh.... |
|
CONZU
Okay, I'll start.
I think the avren was an awsome idea (thank you nuncle!), it really helped me to
keep up the ATLA fan-spirit. Though it also changed my feelings towards ATLA a
bit. Not towards the show, but the plot. Like most of you guys know, I am a Fire
Nation general of the Fire Nation. After being a very patriotic FN general I
developed a bit of 'real' patrotism towards the Fire Nation.
So I don't really have a 'bad-guys idea' anymore. To be honest, I think it would
be neat to see the Fire Nation winning the war, lol...
But hey, I did not totally turned to the 'dark side'! I still like to see the
Gaang winning this war (I know, I know I am contradicting myself).
So.... what about you?
DAVID
How did the avren changed
me...
well, for once, I had a forum responsibility: Leader of the Air Nomads
catchy, eh? Leader. Sounds importantish.
It helped me to grow as a responsible person, and coordinating a group of people
(that were very uncoordinated hehe)
also, it spurred my interest in avatar a lot. I think I would have bored to
death in the forum had not been of the Avren events.
I wasnt to big with the RPs. After all, I got killed pretty easily ^^"
but I loved judging the contests, and making the haiku contests! The haiku
revival was awesome! =D
SOTS
Didn't change me one bit. Guess it's because there weren't really that many contests to which I signed up for.
SUKKA
maybe it practiced my
writing
but i don't write stories so it won't really help -_-'
thanks to nuncle all the same
he made me like avatar more...so...yea...
*exalts*
COYOTE
Well, through the AvRen RP thread/Tea Room I got to know some of the other members, whereas I'd never really spoken to any of you much before. It was neat.
ANKS
it made me realize many things about myself...
yea totally Avatar was
like just a show to me, and i cam on this site because it had great peoples in
it, never really getting into the RP's, Fanfics or the show discussion. this i
can tell is going to change that, i have now become an Avatar freak.
i have also i found a new god.
SC.
Ahmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Ahmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Ahmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
NUNCLE ZERO
I think I would have been bored to tears without the avren.....
TEV
AvRen has been great. I've
only been here for about three months, and I only participated in the RP, but
it's been fun.
I've learned a new style of RPing, and made some new friends along the way!
HAJTOM
Well me I have not
participated in anything!! Mwhahahaha! Mwhahahaha!
At least non of the contests. But I enjoyed it here in this forum giving my
opinions and reading the opinions of other members like you guys. Thanks to
Avren for keeping guys like you who join be present in this forum to which I am
able to converse and read what you wanted to express.
Three cheers to Avren and to all those who joined and how it kept this forum
alive.
One thing I am very happy thanks to Avren it has kept my interest in Avatar very
much alive! And I hope Littlerain will post the new eppies cuz Avren made me so
excited and it makes me very un easy to the thought that it won't be aired in my
place anytime soon.
UNCLE IROH
this event really, really
changed me personally
after watching avatar thru again and realizing how cool martial arts is, i now
take tae kwon do and am LOVING it- i plan to do this for a looooong time (well,
til i try to take up boxing, thanks hajime no ippo, lol)
i also got right back into the show
for a while during the summer i had begun to doubt my love of avatar, but being
on the forum and participating and watching and read all things avatar to pwn
the trivia contests (lol i hav 225 points by myself in 4 events (all before like
mid august), im almost tied with the earth kingdom
)
i got REALLY into avatar again!
thanks to nuncle and all those made this summer a truly enjoyable one! without
AvRen, this forum and many members may hav left avatar for good!
THE ONE HALF
i didnt like the omg join
this nation stuff meh
didnt realy enjoy it anyway never wanted to participate in it..........
i just watch alta now and then during the week xD
AIKIDUDE
I changed into Captain
Pooru and back to Aikidude, lol.
Anyhow, the AvRen didn't make me more of a fan then I already was, but it kept
me the same. I learned how to make fun posts without spamming too ^_^
FLAM
Ah, it feels strange to be
Katara the Flamingo again. The AvRen deffinitely kept my brain alive during the
summer, and exercised my writing skills. I totally enjoyed it! I am now
incredibly obsessed with ATLA. My love for the show, and each character, has
grown substantially. ^^ ((And I've never felt closer to water.))
I made lots of new friends too, especially in the RP. I'm very thankful.
@Nuncle, Scarlet, David, all the nations' leaders, and everyone else who
competed in the AvRen: You all rock!
AVATARGATE
it helped me write better for fanfics. lol
SCARLETCOUGAR
The AvRen didn't change my
intense obsession witht he show. I am still intemsely obcessed (as much as
before). My poor fanfic fans lost me entirely. SORRY GUYS!
What did I learn out of this expereince?
I ran an RP for a group. I have never down that before, usually I run one for
only another person and ike a fanfic.
I ran an RP for a group on a forum! Usually I RP face to face or in MSN/Yahoo.
It was really challenging to create a stroy, outline the key points in the
storyline, have a couple ways in my head that it could end, and manage the
players. I wasn't sure anyone would be interested in or able to follow my
multi-plot story. It started locally in each nation, then merged. What a
challenge. The hardest part was deciding to kill players, knowing they might
become upset. The other worry.... I was introducing people to a spin-off of ATLA
that exists only in my fanfics and extended fanfics. I had no idea if anyone
would be remotely interested.
It turned out ok. I am glad everyone enjoyed it.
Unfortunately, it was more time consuming than I could commit to again for a
very long time. I was online every spare moment, and trying to be on at like 3AM
because of the folks in other time zones. This was brutal when I worked full
time in the last week and tried to get the story to a close. So exhauting. I
learned alot, though.
Thanks for being part of my world!
My other favorite part of the AvRen... writing the trivia. Hehehe... as a
teacher... these were the funnest (most fun) exams I ever created. I might make
more for the hell of it later on.... must find a way to really challenge Uncle
Iroh!
*GRIN*
YUZU
for me the AvRen was a graet chance. and i´m really glad found this wonderfull place
