RULES
While doing all the AvRen
contest’s I had an idea for my own. My idea was to have a Photography AvaRen
contest. And also this has been accepted by all nations SC, Uncle Iroh, David
TLCB and Travatar. i have also talked to SC about the time to release it and we
both agreed that after the art contest was the best time.
SO here it is
For this contest it would be a lot harder then the others because you can just
make that stuff. While to get the right picture may take a while so this contest
will be opened until 31st of August to give people plenty of time to get there
Submissions in.
The Topic.
The topic of the photos will be The Elements OF Bending. I find this a good
topic for The Avren and it also has a wide range but also gives a clear idea for
the judgers of the relevance of the picture
You are to also to write a short summary of you Photo just to tell us what you
are trying to get across and what details there could be that we may miss just
to give you a better chance.
The Rules.
• The first and most important rule is that you must take you own photo, no
getting them off the net or stealing them off your friends. This rule will be
hard for me to enforce like most of the rules but why cheat it just wrecks the
fun of it all.
• The Second is not to edit the Photos in anyway, But you will be able to resize
it if its to big to post but please do not Edit it in any other way.
• You at Max can put two Submissions in but one will be more than enough. The
3rd one will not be counted.
If you are found out breaking these rules you will be disqualified
Judgers:
The judgers of this will be:
Me – Winnkey
And also Avatar Gate. To make it fair and also so I will not get any PM’s saying
that I’m a cheat or anything.
What we will be looking for:
This is the the main thing we will be looking for.
Relevance:
I think that this is obvious; it is to do with if your photo has anything to do
with the topic, which I will think is harder not to do than to do.
Quality:
This is to do with if the photo is blurry of if there is a giant finger in the
way. Not to do with what you used to take the photo. You will not lose any
points for like scan lines or anything I do not care what you take the photo
with you can take it with your phone and still have a equal chance of winning if
someone used a 100 mega pixel (I know no such thing is in existence just making
my point).
Difficulty of shot:
This has to do with the type of shot it is. If its of a bird flying and it is
centered and the bird is non blurry you will get a lot higher than a person who
took a picture of a rock in there shoe.
Distractions:
This is also pretty basic; all this means is that you take care in your shot.
That what you are trying to take will grab our eyes and nothing else is in the
photo that may ruin it. This means just look out for people’s heads and also
things that may ruin the pic.
Angle and zooming:
This is just if this picture could have been taken better from a different angle
or it would of looked better zoomed out or in. just try to take your time with
your shot.
Just some other notes. These are just the basics of what we will be looking for
to give you a hint of what to do. Also I will make this point again I do not
care what you take the pic with as long as it’s clear.
End of Contest:
As I said before the contest will be finished on the 31st of August to give
people plenty of time to find the right picture
But this is only a rough idea on the time. If it is way to long I will shorten
it but also it was only a rough solution because I knew there would be questions
about it.
Prize:
As all the others it will be:
100 points to the winner.
And
25 for the 2 runner ups.
Because you can put in 2 photo if you put two in and you come first with one you
can not come second with the other.
Example:

(I know I got this off the
net so I would be disqualified but this is just for the example.)
Summary:
This is a picture of Ularu in Australia. It is a giant rock just sticking out of
the ground it is a great example of the element earth. The photo has a near
perfect sky and also shows some great native shrubby of Australia.
This was just an example I just made that on the top of my head just to show
what you should talk about and how long it needs to be. All you really need to
talk about is its relevance of it to the topic and some key points of the photo.
WINNERS
First Place goes to LDMP from the Fire Nation:
![[image]](battle_11_files/image004.jpg)
LDMP says: I took this photo with my dad (with his super nice camera to be exact) at my old Jr High. I was on metal stand (I didn't realize how stupid I was afterwards) and took about 50 shots to get one like this. This turned out to be one of the biggest storms we had all year, it was insane. But this photo shows just how deadly fire can truly be.
Judges said: We found this a great picture and we both chose this as first right off.
Second place goes to Scooz from the Earth Kingdom:
![[image]](battle_11_files/image006.jpg)
Scooz says: I took this a few years ago while playing with my zoom lens and I wanted a good picture without all the noise in the background. It was in the middle of spring believe it or not, but we had a cold front that brought some winter-like weather. I think this covers earth, water, and air (since the water is frozen due to the cold air).
Judges said: this was such a great picture and was the only good close up shot we had, I also liked very much how it just focused on the object and drowned out the back ground.
Third place goes to sukkah from the Air Nomads:
![[image]](battle_11_files/image008.jpg)
Sukkah says: now this is a beautiful sunset and i was so bummed i can't take the whole sun's pic since i took this while we were in a boat going to the main island. but the trees and the red shades made it seem more mysteriou so it was a good consolation
Judges said: this was a good photo loved the silhouette effect the sunset had on the trees also the light reflection on the water making it red, all round it was a good photo.
